This is a really striking piece that always creates great interest when seen. Not only do many people seem to have a genuine love for hares, but every one has heard of "boxing hares" (actually a female reacting to unwanted attention from a male). One thing that makes this piece so special is the balance of the statuette: it is designed and weighted in such a way that that the only part that is in contact with ground is the feet of the hare on the right.
